How To Make Your Own Post Partum Padsicles At Home

Also known as witchsicles, this recipe is a botanical ice pack for your perineum, post delivery. I find that healing inflamed and sore sensitive tissues is the perfect balance between using heat and cold therapy. To promote optimal healing and relieve pain, I personally found that ice and cold helped keep perineal inflammation low for the first 2-3 days post birth. After the first 2-3 days, I recommend switching to heat by sitting on a heated pad, blanket or heat pack as well as practicing yoni steaming.

Definitely make these padsicles ahead of time, and use one right after delivery (just slide one of these right into your mesh undies or depends!). I recommend replacing the pads as soon as they are no longer cool. This recipe makes about 15-20 pads (using Always overnights- but you can use any other brand you'd like.)

Here's how its done....

Ingredients:
Directions:

Open up the pad, leaving it in the wrapper. Mix together your solution. Pour approximately 1/8 cup of the solution into the pad, wrap it back up and place all of the pads into a freezer ziploc bag. Keep them in the freezer and just pop one out when you need one!

That's it! I would love to hear how these work out for you- and if you're not expecting a baby yourself, id love for you to share with a friend who is!
